Universal Studios Hollywood currently doesn’t have an official on-property hotels like Universal has at Universal Orlando, but there are still great options in the area. The two hotels closes to Universal Studios Hollywood are the Hilton Universal City and Sheraton Universal Hotel. Both hotels are around the same price range, but have stark differences. The Sheraton Universal Hotel is what you’d expect from Hollywood hotel. The lobby is classic with pictures of the stars and starlets adorning the walls with modern yet classic rooms that are extremely comfortable. The Hilton Universal City is not a bad hotel by any means, but it is definitely more of a convention-style hotel. It has a certain elegance and modern style to it, but lacks any real character, which is disappointing for a hotel in a city filled with colorful stories.
Further out you will find the Loews Hollywood Hotel and The Garland. The Loews Hollywood Hotel is a bit of a hike and will require a cab or metro ride, but it is right in the middle of Hollywood & Highland leaving you within steps of the Chinese Theater, the Dolby Theater, the El Capitan theater and so much more. The Garland is secluded and distanced, but has that classic Hollywood feel to it that is hard to replicate. Plus, it is on the cheaper side and runs a free shuttle to Universal Studios Hollywood.
