When Thanksgiving is over, Universal Studios Florida comes to life as the Macy’s Holiday Parade rolls through Hollywood, Production Central and New York daily at dusk. On select Saturday and Sunday nights, Mannheim Steamroller performs a concert on the Music Plaza Stage, while A Day in the Park with Barney and The Blues Brothers both get the holiday treatment with new shows – A Barney Holiday and The Blues Brothers Holiday Show. If you just want to experience the atmosphere, stroll through the Holiday Village in New York or check out all of the Macy’s balloons located throughout the park!
Macy’s Holiday Parade
Every year, the world-renowned balloons and floats from Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade return to Universal Studios Florida for a special Holiday Parade. Guests can experience the excitement of the New York City tradition as the Macy’s Holiday Parade cruises through the streets of the park. Some guests will even have the chance to participate in the parade and be a balloon handler. The parade begins daily at dusk at dusk. During the parade, marching bands from across the country will perform and a Christmas Tree lighting ceremony will take place in New York directly in front of the Macy’s storefront with Santa Claus himself and the Rockettes.
On select Saturday and Sunday nights, Universal Studios Florida guests will be lucky enough to see Mannheim Steamroller on the Music Plaza Stage in Production Central for no extra cost. The Grammy Award-winning group mixes their unique holiday favorites with a special presentation of music from the Islands of Adventure stage show, “Grinchmas Wholiday Spectacular,” which they helped score. The concert typically runs around an hour, so it is best to find a seat. There is seating available on the lawn if you arrive early enough and if you sit towards the back, you will have a view of the Macy’s Holiday Parade.
Located in the New York area and following the Macy’s Holiday Parade, Holiday Village is filled with local artisans, kids crafts, tasty snacks for purchase and more.
A Barney Holiday
Young children will enjoy A Barney Holiday which takes place in the Barney Theater in Kid Zone. Barney, Baby Bop, and B.J. lead the audience in a sing-along of holiday classics like “Jingle Bells” and “Frosty the Snowman.”
