Halloween Horror Nights 28 will feature 10 houses this year – more than EVER. As of now, only 3 of the 10 houses has been announced, including Stranger Things, Trick ‘r Treat, and Dead Exposure: Patient Zero.
Houses are situated ALL around Universal Studios Florida and are the most popular part of the event. It’s not unusual to see wait times for popular houses reach 2-3 hours on very busy event nights, so plan accordingly and purchase Express if at all possible. Houses are either in sound stages or pop-up tents, but they are dark, loud and intense. If you are claustrophobic or frightened very easily, you may want to consider only going through the scare zones.
The hit Netflix show is coming to Halloween Horror Nights! If you’re not familiar with the pop culture phenomenon, you have plenty of time to catch up on it before the event starts. Stranger Things is set in Hawkins, Illinois in the 1980s and focuses on three friends searching for their missing friend, Will Byers, with the help of a psychokinetic girl, Eleven. There is so much more to the story, but fans will be happy to see their favorite moments from the show recreated, including the Upside Down and Hawkins National Laboratory.
Trick ‘r Treat
Originally a scare zone in 2017, Trick ‘r Treat is returning to Halloween Horror Nights with proper treatment. The house will be based on the movie, Trick ‘r Treat, which is an anthology film telling multiple stories all taking place on the same Halloween night. The stories weave in and out of each other and cover different macabre subjects from a school principal with an appetite for murder to a pack of female werewolves. The star of the movie and the one who ties the stories all together is the adorable, but dangerous Sam.
Dead Exposure: Patient Zero
The first original announced house has the potential to be one of the most frightening houses at this year’s event. Dead Exposure will be set in Paris in 1982 as flesh-eating undead are swarming the streets in an environment filled with total darkness. Flashes of light will help illuminate the way and also subject guests to the terror within. Patient Zero is a sequel to the 2008 house, Dead Exposure, that was completely dark and only lit through camera flashes.
