This holiday season at Universal Orlando promises to be bigger than ever and a big part of that is thanks to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter! In previous years, a few wreaths have gone up here and there throughout the land, but this year Universal has put in ton of effort and decorated both Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Along with some flashy decorations, Universal has also added new entertainment with the crown jewel being The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle.
This nearly 8-minute long projection show will take place nightly starting November 18, 2017 through January 6, 2018, and run about every twenty minutes or so beginning at dusk through park close. The projections are absolutely stunning and some of the best you’ll find in Orlando – period. If you have a trip planned to Universal Studios Hollywood this holiday season, you’ll also be able to see The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle in their Wizarding World.
The show opens up with the ghosts of Hogwarts singing carols before a snowfall covers the castle and begins to illuminate the trees all around the area. Lanterns light the castle, students on brooms create snowmen, and then the flying Ford Anglia ruins the fun. A majestic Christmas tree springs to life next to the Great Hall before the entire castle freezes over. Scenes from the Yule Ball show the students dancing, along with Hagrid and Madame Maxime, and then the Weasley twins take the opportunity to advertise their merchandise as they always do. The show comes to an end with dancing, streaking lights illuminating the castle once again, while students flying on brooms make sure the entire thing wraps up with a big finale.
The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle is a must-see show this Christmas and hopefully just the first of other projections shows we’ll see on Hogwarts Castle in Orlando!
