Universal Orlando Closing Sunday and Monday for Hurricane Irma

Universal Orlando has finally announced their plans for Hurricane Irma. On Saturday, all parks will close at 7 PM and Rock The Universe will be cancelled as previously announced. Universal is scheduled to be closed all day Sunday as well as Monday. Universal also plans on resuming normal operating hours on Tuesday. All on-site hotels are currently at full capacity, and they will remain operational throughout the hurricane.

South Florida is currently under a Hurricane Warning with Central Florida being under a Hurricane Watch. The current track for Irma still shows it impacting South Florida early Sunday and making its way up through Central Florida overnight into Monday. Irma did weaken to a Category 4 on Friday morning and it should be a Category 2 storm by the time it hits Central Florida.
