Universal Orlando has finally officially announced what fans have been talking about for months – Skull Island: Reign of Kong will open in 2016 at Islands of Adventure. Construction has already begun on the experience, which will be located next to the Jurassic Park area of the theme park.
Guests will fight for survival as they “navigate perilous jungles, explore ancient temple structures and encounter hostile natives.”
They will continue on through Skull Island and “brave foreboding caves crawling with prehistoric creatures, fend off unspeakable terrors – and even come face-to-face with the colossal Kong himself.”
Mike West, Executive Producer, Universal Creative, said, “We have massive sets, massive ride vehicles, massive characters and creatures, a massive story. The entire experience is really going to be larger than life.”
Universal Studios Hollywood also has a King Kong attraction, but this will be a different take on the iconic creature’s story.
