Islands of Adventure Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Hogsmeade Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey

What originally started as the rumored Project Strongarm eventually turned into Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey – a moving motion simulator that utilizes KUKA Robotic Arm technology on a moving base that travels along a powered track. Combine that with a brand new story featuring the cast of the Harry Potter films and you have one of the most thrilling and creative rides to ever be developed at Universal. Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is deceiving in that where you get on and off the ride it appears to be a slow-moving ride, but that is not the case. It is an intense thrill ride that turns you in all directions in a dark, noisy environment with lots of surprises.

You approach Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for a lecture on the History of Hogwarts taught by Professor Binns. Harry, Ron and Hermione step in and decide to sneak every one out to a quidditch match through the Room of Requirement. Once past the Sorting Hat, you board an enchanted bench and with a little floo powder they take off flying. Along the way there is a dragon chase and the bench gets lost in the Forbidden Forest, but just when it makes it to the quidditch match Dementors swoop in to ruin it. Harry Potter has to do his best to save the bench and get every one back to the Great Hall.

Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey will be closed for maintenance December 1 – 18
