HHN is bringing Christmas to Halloween this year with Krampus

In what may be some of the best news for Halloween Horror Nights since the announcement of Halloween: Hell Comes to Haddonfield or The Exorcist  Texas Chainsaw Massacre or Halloween, we now have confirmation that Krampus will be joining the 2016 line-up at this year’s HHN.

Krampus is the holiday-horror-comedy movie from Michael Dougherty of Trick ‘r Treat fame following a family on Christmas as they experience what it’s like to receive a visit from the Krampus – a half goat/half demon who punishes children who misbehaved. Please, do not confuse Krampus with the Belsnickel.

Website The Hollywood News broke this story, reporting that they first heard about the Krampus house during a presentation in the UK. While they were given details on more houses, they are keeping their mouths shut as they were sworn to secrecy.

Here is the blurb they were given by Universal describing the house:

The dead of winter sets the stage for the terror that’s about to unfold one cold, dank and dreary Christmas Eve as the fabled anthropomorphic “half-goat, half-demon” horned creature emerges to terrorize those devoid of holiday spirit.  In scenes lifted from the film, guests will navigate the dysfunctional Engel family home to encounter the evil ancient spirit of Krampus – the dark shadow of Saint Nicholas – and his band of Dark Elves and sinister Gingerbread Men, who cause the family to fight to see the light of day.

Nothing beats the mixture of Christmas and Halloween, so sign us up on the excited list for the Krampus house this year. If it is nearly half as good as the Hollywood scare zone Dark Christmas then we are all in for a treat. Hopefully they’ll keep Krampus through the holidays. Deep down, we are all sick and tired of Grinchmas anyways. Why have Grinchmas when we can have Krampusmas?
