The home of Harry Potter isn’t just about friendship and Christmastime; the Wizarding World has a darker side, one that Universal Orlando is tapping into for its newest light projection show.
The resort has just announced that Hogwarts Castle, located in Islands of Adventure’s Hogsmeade side of the Wizarding World, will be the setting of a Dark Arts projection experience that focuses on the darkness that dwells within the Harry Potter Universe.
According to Universal, guests can expect to witness “Dementors, Death Eaters and other unspeakable creatures including Acromantula, Mountain Trolls, and Thestrals,” all making their presence known against the stone walls of Hogwarts. Naturally, Universal couldn’t create a show based on the Wizarding World’s dark arts without an appearance by its most notorious dark artist. Voldemort will indeed be there to supervise the supernatural display, but the show won’t conclude “until one of the wizarding world’s most famous defensive charms is cast.”
The show is set to begin later this year, but no official dates have been released as of yet.
