What is Halloween Horror Nights?
Halloween Horror Nights is an annual event that takes place inside of Universal Studios Florida as a hard-ticket event. The event starts on weekends in mid September and runs through Halloween (and many times into November) and extends into Wednesdays and Thursdays closer to Halloween. HHN is comprised of two main elements – houses and scare zones. Houses can either be built inside sound stages or in temporary tents, while scare zones are right in the middle of the streets and walking paths, meaning they are pretty difficult to avoid. There is at least one show, but some years feature multiple shows. Some special dining and drink carts are set up for the event, but many quick-service options remain open as well as select attractions.
Who Should Attend Halloween Horror Nights?
Halloween Horror Nights is a somewhat intense event meant for adults and teenagers with graphic imagery and “scare-actors” roaming the streets with the sole intent to terrify guests. HHN is not recommended for small children, but there is no age restriction. In general, HHN is similar to being in a real-life horror film, so if your kids can’t handle watching horror movies at home then they probably won’t enjoy Halloween Horror Nights. Although this is a Halloween event, no costumes are allowed.
